We understand that life as a Christian has its hurdles. Sure! We need to understand also that we have enemies to our faith that utilize tried and true tactics to break down our faith in God and place it elsewhere. Now this would be a simple, point out the obvious, repent, and move on in victory, except so many believers are being destroyed by these two very manipulative enemies, that these believers actually believe that they are doing good in the eyes of the Lord and are obedient to Christ, when they have become quite deceived.
